United Way of Union held a food drive to kick-off
their annual campaign on Friday, Sept. 10 at UCO Industries. This year’s goal is $1,000,052 to emphasize the campaign theme “$52 in ‘22”
encouraging every Union County resident to donate $1 a week to help UWUC’s 29 local partner agencies dedicated to providing programming to ensure economic
stability, access to health, childhood/youth success and senior engagement.
Over 20 local businesses and organizations donated non-perishables to help fill the shelves of local food pantries. 1500 pounds of food was collected and
distributed to the Richwood REAP pantry, The Milford Center Food Pantry, and The Hope Center. Donations were weighed and UCO Industries won the friendly
competition of most pounds of food collected with a total of 219 pounds.
