Over $14,040 in donations were collected during the fourth annual LIVE UNITED RadioThon held on November 17, making this year’s event a record breaking success.

QT-1270 AM in Marysville partnered with United Way of Union County toward its $1,000,001 campaign goal by airing the nine-hour LIVE UNITED RadioThon again this year. The marathon, highlighting stories of people who benefit from gifts made to the local non-profit, is in its fourth straight year, with QT-1270 donating airtime to the cause each year. Last year’s event garnered over $7,200 for the United Way campaign; 2014 raised $7158, with $7281 in 2013.

“Here at QT1270, we were once again delighted to have the opportunity to host this event for such a worthy charity that makes such a significant mark everyday on the lives of citizens across Union County,” comments Pete Emmons, Senior Account Executive and On-Air Personality of QT1270.

In fact, one gift to United Way supports six area pantries, four senior centers, two shelters, a homeless prevention program, rent and utility assistance, disaster relief, prescription medication, hospice care, cancer support, youth activities, and more.

United Way works to bring neighbors and resources together to improve lives in Union County. United Way of Union County has raised more than $19 million for local needs since it was established in 1958. More than just a fundraiser, United Way collaborates with local businesses, government, and non-profit organizations to solve pressing social service issues large and small.
