Sharing your gifts of time and talents
Vol·un·teer n 1: a person who offers him or herself for a service or duty. In the case of the United Way of Union County, it's local people choosing freely to do something nice to help other local people. There are a whopping 1,700 people volunteering within the United Way family of Member Agencies. People who go above and beyond the responsibilities of their daily lives -- beyond work, school, family, and church commitments, to help improve the quality of life for their friends and neighbors.

Vol·un·teer v 2 : offering to enter into service of one's own free will.
In other words, "volunteer" is not just a person, but also an action. If you aren't currently a volunteer, you can choose to volunteer. And the United Way of Union County can offer a number of opportunities to suit your interests and fit into your schedule. It's a great way to meet new friends, get involved, help others, and feel good about yourself at the same time.

How do I find the right volunteer role for me?
Maybe you have a few extra hours a week to devote to others. Or perhaps you're ready to make a long-term commitment to your favorite cause. Whether you're looking to fill community service hours or just to do something with your free time, there are literally hundreds of ways to get involved.

Ask yourself these questions: What do I like to do? What group of people do I like to be around? How much time do i have available and when can I help? Then check out the list below or the comprehensive list here for some of the hundreds of opportunities available in our community. Or call United Way at 937.644.8381 and we'll help guide you to the best possible opportunity based on your interests, abilities, and schedule. You'll be glad you did!
