Again this year, 100% of the proceeds from the Putt FORE Kids! will benefit area children through
United Way of Union County’s Youth Arts and Recreation Grant Fund. Created in 2001 to increase access to art and
recreation opportunities for area youth, the fund has opened doors for hundreds of children. It keeps them involved
in positive, structured activities and out of trouble by paying the participation fee for families who would be
unable to afford them.
Money raised from Putt FORE Kids! has helped support youth participating in 15 local organizations:
- Camp Nuhop
- City of Marysville Pool Passes
- East Elementary PTO Art Camp
- Marysville Art League
- Marysville Junior Baseball/Softball
- Marysville Junior Football Association
- North Union Baseball for Boys
- North Union Junior Football
- North Union Softball for Girls
- Ohio Sled Hockey
- Power Surge Teen Event
- Raymond Junior Baseball
- Richwood Business Association Youth Dance
- Union County Junior Football
- Village of Plain City Pool Passes

Did
you know that the hours between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. are the times when adolescents are most likely to get into trouble?
It's between the end of the school day and before Mom or Dad get home from work when many kids are left unsupervised.

The Hoof Beats 4-H Club came as a group and took
home many individual player awards and prizes.

“Keeping children involved in positive, structured activities is a key in guiding them down
the right path,” says Mike Heifner a United Way volunteer who helped establish the Youth Arts & Recreation
Grant Fund in 2001. Since its inception, United Way has awarded more than $83,000 to qualifying organizations through
the fund.
