United Way and Curves team up for Winter Warm-Up
For Immediate Release
November 21, 2005

The chill in the air means winter is right around the corner. And area children will soon be out in the elements, waiting for school buses, walking to school, and playing in the snow. To help make sure all are prepared for winter's arctic blast, the United Way of Union County is teaming up with Curves in Marysville and Plain City for the Winter Warm-Up.

For the second straight year, volunteers from United Way and Curves will be collecting winter clothes items for Union County children. Items needed included new hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, earmuffs, boots, shoes, and socks. On Saturday December 3, volunteers will be taking donations outside the Marysville Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Big Lots from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Items can also be dropped off through December at Curves (123 Damascus Rd. in Marysville or 900 Village Blvd. in Plain City) or at the United Way office (232 N. Main St., Suite UW in Marysville) during regular business hours.

All items collected will stay in Union County and will be distributed to social service providers for distribution to those in need. These will include the Special Needs Council, Marysville Victory Center, Union County Personal Needs Pantry, the Marysville Clothes Closet, the Richwood Police Department, the Jerome Township Fire Department, and the Plain City Food Pantry.

Anyone making a donation will receive a coupon for one free week at Curves. For more information, please contact United Way at (937) 644-8381.
