Volunteer Helps Launch New Website for |

| The United Way of Union County is rolling on the information super highway. Thanks
to the volunteer efforts of a committed web page designer, the United Way of Union County recently launched an
updated website. Accessible at www.unitedwayofunioncounty.org, the site features updated news and information about
the United Way, the services it provides, its activities, its volunteers, and its 23 Member Agencies. Georgia Tobin, webmaster of eMarysville.com, was responsible for completely updating and revamping the site. Since Tobin began her online guide to Marysville in 1998 she has provided free web listings for local social service organizations, including the United Way of Union County. But the scope of this new project and the expertise Tobin offered to make it happen exceeded a free listing on her website. The United Way provided the content and Tobin did the rest, using her computer graphics and electronic publishing skills to redesign the page. The result is a colorful, user-friendly site that will attract all of the United Way stakeholders. "To survive in the information age, you have to have a presence on the internet," said Shari Marsh, Executive Director of the United Way of Union County. "Thanks to Georgia, people can now look us up on the web and see all the many ways the United Way impacts our community. "It's a great way for those who have invested in our organization to keep up on how their dollars are helping their neighbors," Marsh said. "People interested in volunteering can research the opportunities available to them. And those needing services can discover what is available to help them." For Tobin, it was a way for her to contribute to a cause she believes is worthwhile. She didn't charge the United Way for her work, saving the organization up to $1,500 with her in-kind gift. "I have more time than money and this is a way that I can support the good work of the United Way even though I can't make a monetary donation," Tobin said. Tobin will continue maintaining the web page when provided with information by the United Way, helping to keep donors, volunteers, and recipients of services updated with the latest happenings.
