A Pillar's Strength As with any successful endeavor, the success of the United Way hinges
on the example established by its leaders and their generosity. Pillar Society Members are true pillars of our
community, giving of their time, talent, and treasure to make an impact in their neighborhood and their place of
work. They are shining examples of commitment to their community.
Together, 248 Pillars invested a total of $209,288 in 2006, or 26% of the money raised during the campaign. The
average Pillar Society Member's gift was $844.
Membership in the Pillar Society begins at $500 per year, or less than $10 per week. Pillar Society Members receive
our quarterly newsletter and are invited to exclusive events, such as our Annual Pillar Society Reception. But
the value of membership runs deeper than that. A decision to be a Pillar is an investment in our community and
makes a true difference in the lives of your neighbors.
Levels of Membership Annual gifts qualify individual donors for Pillar Society membership
at the following levels:
Platinum $2,500 and up
Gold $1,000 to $2,499
Silver $750 to $999
Bronze $500 to $749

Many workplaces offer a corporate match of employee pledges during the United Way campaign. This year, Pillars
