About the United Way of Union County

Michelle Scheiderer, first grade teacher at Fairbanks Elementary, and Sandy Donley of the Child Assault Prevention Project drop off boxes of school supplies at the school.

The items were collected at several Union County stores during the first two Saturdays in August and delivered to all county elementary
and intermediate schools before the start of the new school year. They'll be used in the classroom throughout the year by children who are unable to afford new school supplies. "Everybody loves new school supplies," says Scheiderer. "They love getting new boxes of crayons, new boxes of markers, it'll just make school seem exciting at the beginning."
