What it does:
For 28 years, has provided victims and survivors of domestic violence with safe, secure, temporary shelter, food, and clothing in a comfortable atmosphere.  Though the shelter is in Marion, they meet regularly with Union County victims at an undisclosed (for safety reasons) location to offer additional assistance and support.  These are individual and group meetings.

Provides legal advocacy, information and referral, manage a 24-hour crisis hotline, publicize and increase awareness of domestic violence issues, and provide prevention programs in area schools.

Fast Facts:

  • Has a weekly Peer Support Group that meets confidentially in Union County.
  • 98% of domestic violence victims are women.

Children learn at an early age that "Hands are not for hitting."

Turning Point's new facility offers a safe haven for victims of domestic violence.
