The American Red Cross is located in the heart of
uptown Marysville at the corner of 5th and Main.

What it does:
Provides disaster relief assistance, conducts bloodmobiles, safety training courses, service to military families,
and AIDS awareness and prevention.
Fast Facts:
- Conducted 79 bloodmobiles at 26 different locations throughout Union County last year with
more than 4,600 donors producing 4,143 productive units of blood.
- Each blood donation has the potential to save up to three lives.
- Assisted 34 military families last year.
- Provided assistance last year to 64 individuals after their homes suffered damage from tornado,
flooding, fire, or other disasters.
- Safety training courses include First Aid, CPR, water safety and lifeguard, babysitting,
and sports safety. These courses are taken by local emergency response personnel, local lifeguards, child care
providers, local Latchkey personnel, sports trainers, officials, and other Union County residents.

Red Cross volunteers respond to fires at local homes
to provide families with disaster assistance. Victims may be provided with food, clothing, a motel stay, medications,
restaurant meals, infant formula, baby food, and diapers.

More than 4,400 Union County residents gave the gift
of life in 2004 through the Red Cross bloodmobiles. These real-life heroes can help to save up to three lives every
time they donate.

Marysville's Stephanie Doupnik took the lifeguard
training course offered by the local American Red Cross. In the subsequent summer, she got a job at the City of
Marysville Municipal Pool and saved three children who were in danger of drowning.
